December’s Theme is Believe: Have confidence in yourself and others.

 

Brandon White has been selected as the Male CRUSADER CHARACTER for the MONTH OF DECEMBER. Brandon White is the Junior Boys’ Basketball Crusader who most epitomizes the character trait of believing in yourself and others.  On the court and in practice he exudes confidence in his abilities, and never shies away from a challenge.  Brandon also trusts his teammates, and will give up a good shot to pass to someone for a great shot. He is a quiet leader, who makes those around him better players. Congratulations Brandon!

 

Alex Spence has been selected as the Female CRUSADER CHARACTER for the MONTH OF DECEMBER. As the captain of the Junior Girls Volleyball Team Alex demonstrates tremendous leadership in herself and with her teammates consistently on and off the court. Whenever a situation becomes tense, Alex steps up to calm and refocus the team.  An example of this is when Alex led the team with 42 serves in the Catholic Cup at Notre Dame CHS.  As the middle player she dominates blocking and power hitting in league play. Alex is always one of the first people to pick up her teammates by leading by example. Nice work Alex!

 

January’s Theme is Perseverance: Finish what you start, even when it is difficult

 

Jared Elliott has been selected as the Male CRUSADER CHARACTER for the MONTH OF JANUARY. Jared possesses everything a coach wants in a team Captain. He works exceptionally hard on his game and has earned the respect of his teammates. Jared has taken a massive step forward this year as his skills have improved immensely. What separates him from other players is his physical style and his tenacious drive to complete at a higher level. Jared is a player you love to have on your team and do not like to play against. He is one of the reasons why the boys team is off to such a great start!! Congratulations Jared and good luck the rest of the season.

 

Kayla MacDonald has been selected as the Female CRUSADER CHARACTER for the MONTH OF JANUARY.  Kayla has demonstrated all of the skills of being a true team leader. She works extremely hard both on the ice and in the classroom. Kayla is extremely positive and has a excellent rapport with the younger players. When the girls’ first game wasn’t going so well Kayla continued to persevere and gave a maximum effort until the final buzzer. Congratulations Kayla and best of luck with the rest of the season!

 

February’s Theme is Empathy:  To attempt to understand and share the feelings of others.  To have compassion and give help.

 

Hannah Doyle has been selected as the Female CRUSADER CHARACTER for the MONTH OF FEBRURARY.  Hannah was always aware of how her teammates were feeling and continued to boost their spirits at critical times. She consistently provided input and advice for athletes to improve their game. Hannah is a highly motivated individual who wants to do what is best for the team’s overall success. Congratulations Hannah on an excellent season. Mr. Hutt is extremely proud of your efforts!

 

Connor Kelly has been selected as the Male CRUSADER CHARACTER for the MONTH OF FEBRURARY.  Connor has the ability to relate to all of the players on his team and communicate that information to his coaches. He knows when to push his teammates to get the most out of their strengths and when to support them during their struggles. Connor is an ultimate team player and true leader who provides only positive feedback and reinforcement for the betterment of team. Thank-you for everything you have done for Crusader Boys Basketball Connor. You are extremely deserving of this award!
