December – Believe: Have confidence in yourself and others.
Grace Young has been selected as the Female CRUSADER CHARACTER for the MONTH OF DECEMBER. As a member of the Varsity Girls Hockey Team, Grace demonstrated a quiet leadership in herself and with her teammates on and off the ice. She is a competitive player who acted in a positive manner with her teammates on a consistent basis. Grace is always one of the first people to pick up her team by leading by example with her tremendous work ethic. Nice job Grace!
Nate Rylands has been selected as the Male CRUSADER CHARACTER for the MONTH OF DECEMBER. Nate Rylands is a member of the Varsity Boys Hockey Team who most epitomizes the character trait of believing in yourself and others. He exudes confidence in his abilities, and never shies away from a challenge. Nate is a competitive player, a solid teammate and is an individual with a good work ethic who helps to make those around him better players. Congratulations Nate!
January – Perseverance: Finish what you start, even when it is difficult.
The Junior Girls Volleyball team has been selected as the Female CRUSADER CHARACTER for the MONTH OF JANUARY. They have all demonstrated the skills of being true team leaders. This group of girls work extremely hard both on the Volleyball court and in the classroom. They are squad that commits to what is being focused on during practices and drills and then puts in into action for games and tournaments. Congratulations and best of luck with the rest of the season!
James Norton has been selected as the Male CRUSADER CHARACTER for the MONTH OF JANUARY. As a member of the Junior Boys Basketball Team, James has been named the recipient of this award. No matter what the score is, he always gives 100% at both ends of the floor offensively and defensively. He scrambles for rebounds and selflessly dives for loose basketballs. Congratulations James on working so hard this season and showing what true CRUSADER SPIRIT is! Best of luck with the remainder of your season.
February – Empathy: To attempt to understand and share the feelings of others. To have compassion and give help.
Samantha VandenAnker has been selected as the Female CRUSADER CHARACTER for the MONTH OF FEBRURARY. Sam was always aware of how her teammates were feeling and continued to boost their spirits at critical times. She was in touch with everyone’s feelings and did her best to always support her teammates. Sam had a positive attitude and encouraged her team, even when the chips were down. Congratulations Sam on an excellent season and for helping our school get their first EOSSAA Title in Girls Volleyball history. Mr. Hutt is extremely proud of your efforts!
Carter Reil has been selected as the Male CRUSADER CHARACTER for the MONTH OF FEBRURARY. Carter has been a valuable part of our Boys’ Basketball program for the past 4 years who always had a positive influence on his teammates. Carter constantly gave encouragement to his team and helped all players stay involved and engaged in all aspects of the game. A huge contributor to the development of a “team first attitude”, he was always able to demonstrate compassion in the many memorable moments this group experienced throughout this season and the ones in the past. Congratulations Carter!
