December – Believe: Have confidence in yourself and others.

Jenna Garlough has been selected as the Female CRUSADER CHARACTER for the MONTH OF DECEMBER. Jenna is an important role player on the Senior Girls Volleyball Team. She is called upon regularly to serve in difficult situations and always performs admirably. Jenna consistently displays a deal of courage and belief in herself and her teammates, who rely upon her steady plan and calming presence on and off the court. Congratulations Jenna! Best of luck in the remainder of your season.

Kristian Gibbs has been selected as the Male CRUSADER CHARACTER for the MONTH OF DECEMBER. Kristian is a member of the Junior Boys’ Basketball Team who most epitomizes the character trait of believing in yourself and others.  On the court and in practice he shows confidence in his abilities, and never shies away from a challenge.  Kristian also trusts his teammates and will give up a good shot to pass to someone for a great shot. He is a quiet leader, who makes those around him better players. Congratulations Kristian!

January – Perseverance: Finish what you start, even when it is difficult.

Thomas Dishaw has been selected as the Male CRUSADER CHARACTER for the MONTH OF JANUARY.  Despite being in grade 10 on the Varsity Boys Hockey Team, Thomas certainly does not back down from a challenge when competing against older players. He works incredibly hard each shift and it has paid off in dividends as he is one of the top goal scorers on the team. He isn’t the biggest player but he will often play very aggressive in difficult situations to win a “puck battle” for his team. Congratulations Thomas and keep up the exceptional effort!

Jaydin Poulin has been selected as the Female CRUSADER CHARACTER for the MONTH OF JANUARY.  Jaydin may not be the tallest player on the Varsity Girls Hockey Team, but she makes up for it with determination, heart and effort. Jaydin will often persevere and win puck battles against much bigger opposition. Her intensity and leadership certainly do not go unnoticed as she leads by example each and every time she steps on the ice. Way to go Jaydin and best of luck with the rest of your season!

February – Empathy:  To attempt to understand and share the feelings of others.  To have compassion and give help.

Rebecca Lockett has been selected as the Female CRUSADER CHARACTER for the MONTH OF FEBRURARY.  Rebecca played the position of “second” on the Varsity Mixed Curling Team. This group was quite competitive and ended up being the LGSSAA Champion as well as an EOSSAA Finalist. She willingly gave up her spot so that the team spare could also play 4 times in each game. This was an incredible demonstration of both compassion and empathy towards her teammates which was also recognized by her coaches. Way to go Rebecca and congratulations on a great season!

James Norton has been selected as the Male CRUSADER CHARACTER for the MONTH OF FEBRURARY.  James has been a valuable part of our Boys’ Basketball Team this year who always had a positive influence on his teammates. He is very encouraging, accepted everyone on the team and offered help to our less experienced players. James is not only a big fan of the game but also understands what it takes to help others love the games as much as he does.  Congratulations James!
